Russel Brand: revolution
"Russell Brand wants YOU to join the revolution.

We all know the system isn't working. Our governments are corrupt and the opposing parties pointlessly similar. Our culture is filled with vacuity and pap, and we are told there's nothing we can do - "it's just the way things are".

In this book, Russell Brand hilariously lacerates the straw men and paper tigers of our conformist times and presents, with the help of experts as diverse as Thomas Piketty and George Orwell, a vision for a fairer, sexier society that's fun and inclusive.

You have been lied to, told there's no alternative, no choice and that you don't deserve any better. Brand destroys this illusory facade as amusingly and deftly as he annihilates Morning Joe anchors, Fox News fascists and BBC stalwarts"

Am I the only one who is absolutely ashamed that this cunt professes to be a West Ham fan?

I usually like Russell Brand, for his WHU connection, but he really is talking fucking shit now.
Saying people should stop paying their mortgages, that's so easy for a multi millionaire to come out with.

Appears he will be sharing the stage with the Nazi sympathiser Laurence Easeman.

How liberal.

he is right though, they are ALL corrupt as fuck and here is no real difference between them anymore. All politicians are chameleons before an election.

Re: Russel Brand: revolution
Its still a stupid thing to do. Better to vote as a protest than not vote and send the signal to politicians that you don't care. Politicians will only tailor policies for the people that they will think could vote for them.

I'm saying it didn't make one jot of difference. It was lip service to the Scottish people to make them think they took part in choosing the direction their country took.
With secret ballets it's pretty easy to fix the vote and that is precisely what the people in charge did. Powerful people did not want a fractured UK.

Corporate law is a tool that the ruling elite use to great effect. Most of us don't have a clue.

Again,at the risk of repetition..Brand didnt say 'dont vote' he said 'dont vote unless you feel represented by a particular party'

What, the majority of Scots who voted to stay part of the UK? I think they'd say it works.

Alvin 9:23 Sun Oct 19
Re: Russel Brand: revolution
PH do you reckon the Scots would have been better off not voting?

Re: Russel Brand: revolution
I like the lad, and at least he has the balls to work his own ideas out and express them quite articulately. Not sure about encouraging people not to vote (if that's really what he did), because we fought for hundreds of years to get the right to vote, and shouldn't throw it away. Admittedly we always seem to get disappointed in who we vote in. I'm thinking specially of Blair, but that doesn't mean we should stop voting.

No need to apologise and no nerve touched. I just find it amusing how that particular sixth form barb is trotted out whenever a left wing/ right wing debate is underway.

Re: Russel Brand: revolution
I don't see much backlash to Brand's "Don't vote" suggestion from those who, ostensibly, rely on such votes to maintain/secure their seat on the gravy train, so I guess they also don't see any actual point in people voting for them.
